About the
East Hanover Senior Citizens Club
The East Hanover Senior Citizens Club is under the sponsorship and guidance of the Township
of East Hanover and under the guidance of the East Hanover Senior Citizen Center
Management Commission. The membership of the club is non partisan and non
sectarian and is open to any resident of East Hanover, 60 years of age or older,
regardless of race, color or religious beliefs. Annual dues are $10.00.
Business meetings are held the second and fourth Monday of
each month at 11AM. Social meetings are held on the first and third Monday of
each month.
The club is open every day from 9am to 4pm. Card playing is available every
day in the club card room. Bingo is available every Monday and Wednesday.
Bus service is available to take Seniors to the center on Monday and
Wednesday; bus service is available on Thursday to go shopping at the Malls and
Friday to go to Pathmark for food shopping. Limited bus service is also
available for doctor appointments. For more information or to make arrangements

A monthly Podiatry clinic is available at the center on the second
Monday of the month by making an appointment
through the Board of Health at (973) 428-3035 between 12:30 and 3:30. Blood pressure
screening is available by coming to the center on the scheduled days between
noon and 2:00. Flu/Pneumonia immunizations are available in the month of
October; check the town calendar for particulars.
A representative from the Morris County Social Services is available every
month to assist members with hospitalization forms and problems as well as
benefits through Medicare and Medicaid.
Bowling is available every Friday morning 10:00 at Hanover Lanes: just drop
in and join for a nominal fee. Free aerobics is available every Monday and
Wednesday at the Recreation Center on Eagle Rock Avenue between 9:30
and 10:30.
A Trip Coordinator and Trip Committee are available to schedule daily,
monthly and over night activities for all club members. All trips and socials
are announced at the regular business meetings and posted on the bulletin board.
A trip to Atlantic City is planned for every month on the 3rd Thursday at
a cost of $25 to defray bus costs. Non-members 60+ are invited, space
permitting. Comps are provided by the casino upon arrival.

members or caregivers can have questions answered about such issues as
healthcare, in-home care, transportation, social activities and events,
nutrition, and volunteer opportunities.
NJ Ease is a state initiative that promotes the well being of
people age 60 and over, and is designed to foster independence, dignity and
self-sufficiency, regardless of financial status. The NJ Ease toll-free number
is in operation from 8:30 - 5:00, Monday through Friday.
