Abigail Howard Is Hanover Park June Student Of The Month

On Wednesday morning, June 1, Hanover Park Principal Edward Franko announced the June Student of the Month. He began, "This young man is someone who leads a very active life, both in and out of school while maintaining a high academic average which was earned while taking numerous Honors and AP level courses. He is a gentleman who welcomes a challenge while being involved in several school activities and also having a job after school. He has played an active role in the production of the yearbook as well as the literary magazine, and is also a member, and officer of the National Honor Society. He has played sports at Hanover Park and is a member of the FBLA, the International club and the Key Club."

"As I like to say, more importantly, he is respected by his teachers and peers for his honesty, optimism and determination. His encouraging and enthusiastic ways are infectious, always resulting in having a positive impact on others. His active involvement at his church and in the community is further indicative of his commitment and attitude. The following statement from one of his nominating teachers effectively sums up his qualifications for this recognition."

“'Overall his diligence and dedication to his studies and extracurricular activities in school and in the community is admirable. It reflects his strong character, integrity, and pride in his work. What distinguishes him from other students is how his subtle confidence and respect for others shines forth despite his seemingly quiet demeanor.'”
